At St Joseph's we have thought about what, how and when our children will learn the different elements of our curriculum. We teach a broad and balanced curriculum, in line with the National Curriculum, which equips our pupils with the knowledge and skills to succeed. Each year teachers’ careful planning builds upon the prior learning, with a clear progression in each subject area.
"There is a strong curriculum in place, which supports pupils to achieve well. As a result, pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their education, including the children in the early years foundation stage (EYFS)." Ofsted, December 2021
Religious Education is a key part of the atmosphere and purpose of the school. We follow the God Matters scheme which is based on scriptural content and is in line with the Catholic Education Directory.
For more information about what is taught in each year group please look at the curriculum overviews below. Please bear in mind that these might be subject to change as the year develops and the teachers get to know their classes and the interests of the children.
